Privacy

This page says what Clocked keeps about you, why, and who else sees it. Clocked is operated from the United Kingdom.

What we keep

  • Your account: your email address and, if you set one, a password (stored only in scrambled form).
  • Your beats: the file name, a low-quality mono copy made in your browser for scanning, and an MP3 copy for listening back. The original file is never uploaded.
  • What is found: the songs matched to your beats, their public view counts, and the notes, fees, contacts and payments you record.
  • Documents you add: licence agreements, store sales exports and royalty statements.
  • Usage: how many scans your account has used, and error reports when something breaks.

Why

To run the service for you: finding placements, showing what they are worth, and alerting you. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use your audio to train anything.

Who else handles it

  • Supabase stores accounts, data and files.
  • Vercel hosts the website.
  • ACRCloud receives 15-second low-quality clips of your beats to compare with released music.
  • YouTube (Google) is asked for public view counts and channel details of matched songs.
  • Resend delivers emails, when email alerts are switched on.

Some of these companies process data outside the UK, under their own safeguards.

People you send links to

An artist who accepts a licence link gives their name and email, which are stored with that agreement for you. A co-producer link shows the songs found on one beat to anyone who has the link, until you switch it off.

Cookies

Clocked uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in, and remembers your light or dark choice in your browser. No tracking or advertising cookies.

How long

For as long as you have an account. Delete a beat and its scanning copy and placements go with it. Ask for your account to be deleted and everything is removed, apart from backups, which roll off within about two months.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to how it is used. If you are unhappy with a reply you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
